Meet the Superintendent of Farwell Area Schools, Ms. Carncross

Superintendent.

Although new to this role, she is not new to Farwell. Ms. Carncross started her educational path with Farwell as a kindergartener. That’s right, Ms. Carncross is a born and raised Farwell Eagle, having graduated from Farwell High School in 1995. After graduation, she attended Central Michigan University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. Ms. Carncross spent her teaching career at Farwell, teaching special education, general education, and enrichments. She was a teacher in all three buildings and loved every opportunity that she had to be with students.

After leaving the classroom, Ms. Carncross took on the role of Farwell Elementary Principal and State & Federal Programs Director for the District. She placed a great deal of emphasis on making school an inviting place where students want to be. She believes that learning should be fun and building strong connections with students makes all the difference.

Ms. Carncross lives in Farwell and has two sons who were also Farwell High School graduates. She believes that there is no better place to live and raise children than Farwell. Her passion for rings true in everything that she does. Ms. Carncross’ mission is to ensure that all Farwell students have amazing opportunities, believe in themselves, feel valued, and graduate from Farwell with as fond of memories as she has.


Meet Farwell Elementary’s Principal, Mrs. Laverty!

FES Principal

Tracey Laverty is the Principal at Farwell Elementary School. Before becoming principal, Mrs. Laverty spent 22 years teaching kindergarten, transition first, and first grade at Farwell Elementary, where she developed a strong foundation in early childhood education and literacy instruction.

A longtime member of the Farwell community, Mrs. Laverty has lived in the area for more than 30 years. Her connection to Farwell runs deep—both of her children are Farwell graduates, as are her husband and his parents. She is passionate about supporting the students, families, and staff who make Farwell such a special place.

Mrs. Laverty believes every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. She is committed to meeting the individual needs of students and fostering a safe and positive learning environment. Mrs. Laverty values strong partnerships with families and the community and believes that, together, we can help every Farwell Elementary student thrive. 


Introducing Farwell Middle/High School’s Principal, Ms. Hagle!

FMS-FHS Principal

Nicole Hagle is the Principal at Farwell High School and Farwell Middle School.  She comes to Farwell with 19 years of experience teaching general and special education at both the elementary and secondary levels.  Ms. Hagle is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing’s Band.  After 4 years of service, she returned to Michigan and earned both her Bachelor’s in Education and her Master of Arts in Teaching degrees from Saginaw Valley State University.  

When she isn’t at school, she spends her time with family, tending her small homestead, and volunteering for local civic organizations.  Ms. Hagle believes in a student-centered approach to education, and places high value on inclusive learning environments with high standards to support students both academically and emotionally.  Advocacy and service are and have always been at Ms. Hagle’s core and she brings this to the Farwell community to support our students, staff and families.
