Farwell Bands in the Community

Tuesday, May 12 was a great day filled with lots of Fine Arts in our Farwell/Clare Communities! Farwell students were right there supporting and taking part in these events!

Tuesday morning started with the 7th-12th Grade Band Students along with the Farwell Pre-Schoolers going to the Village Park to help support the Farwell Veterans Banner Program. This program recognizes and honors our local veterans by hanging a banner on the streets in honor of their service to our country! The Pre-School students led the crowd in the Nations Pledge and then the Farwell Band performed several patriotic tunes to liven the festivities up!

Tuesday afternoon found Melodic Fusion performing for the Clare Arts Council Program. Melodic Fusion is a small group of advanced students who start the school day an hour earlier than the normal schedule. They perform on traditional acoustic instruments as well as having the opportunity to create music with technology! The group focuses more on Jazz Standards as well as Pop and Rock Music.

The Arts Council had an amazing evening of showcasing the art work of area schools along with the setting of new sculptures created for the streets of Clare. these sculptures replaced what had been on display for the past year. They include sculptures created by people from all over the United States!

The students art work that was on display was outstanding and included a piece by FHS Students Danielle Cool and Grace Thrush as well as Exchange Students Marcos Quero and Ines Ferrer.

Melodic Fusion performed for the opening hour as people milled about, ate, and looked at the art work. This gave Farwell Students the exciting opportunity to perform on the stage of the renovated Ideal Theater!
