Mrs. Jorgensen photo in front of book background

Mrs. Elizabeth Jorgensen is our newest high school english teacher! This is her 10th year of teaching, but her first year in Farwell. Before coming here, Mrs. Jorgensen was a teacher in West Virginia. One of her favorite student stories comes from that time in her teaching career. One of her classes she taught in West Virginia was a double block, so students would attend her class, have a passing time, and then come back again for another class period with her. One day, Mrs. Jorgensen came back to class to find one of her students missing. She made sure to keep her cool in front of the other students and decided to get the class started before alerting the office. To do this, she had to go to her classroom closet, and when she opened it, there was the missing student, hiding to scare her. She couldn't be mad at her class because they kept it together so well and scared her so good. Mrs. Jorgensen decided to become a teacher because she really loves literature and working with teens, and in this job she gets to teach her favorite subject with her favorite people. It's the best of both worlds! Her favorite part of working at Farwell so far has been the staff. She is so thankful for how supportive and encouraging they have been. If Mrs. Jorgensen could travel anywhere, she would travel to England to see the Globe Theatre.
