Mr. Barassi in Italy

Mr. Rodrigo Barassi is our new/returning Spanish teacher here at Farwell High School. Mr. Barassi is in his 32nd year of teaching and taught at Farwell back in 1990-1994! When asked what he was looking forward to most this school year, he said he was excited to re-meet his former students, who are now his fellow educators. While we love Mr. Barassi as a teacher now, he actually didn't know he wanted to become a teacher until he was already in college as a pharmacy major. One of the professors at his college asked him to take over the class for a day in her absence, and he really enjoyed it. He switched his major after that experience, and we are so glad! Mr. Barassi also loves to travel, and two of his favorite places to go are Spain and Italy. He particularly loves Venice because of their beautiful architecture. Outside of teaching and travelling, Mr. Barassi is also a soccer coach! He even coached a semi-pro team in Midland! We are so excited to welcome Mr. Barassi to the Farwell team, and if you see him around, we strongly encourage you to strike up a conversation!
