  • Wellness Presentation

    School Social Worker Melody Lake and School Psychologist Matt Smith will be hosting a wellness presentation titled, "Supporting Our Students in the School, Home, and Community Settings" on February 3, 2016 for parents of high school and middle school students.  They will present information from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. and again from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m.  A light dinner will be served between 4:15 - 4:45 p.m.  Please click here to download a registration form if you are planning to attend.

Farwell Area Schools Earn Education Excellence Award

Two Years in a Row! 

Education Excellence Award  
The Michigan Association of School Boards recently recognized Farwell Area Schools for its Mandarin Dual Immersion and Spanish K-14 Program.
The scope of this program is one of the grandest in the state that seeks to provide students with a robust exposure to another language and culture.  The ultimate goal for students who take full advantage of the program is to graduate with college credits and a high level of proficiency in three languages:  Spanish, Chinese, and English.

The following requirements will be in effect for the November 2015 reporting period:

Required for all children entering kindergarten, all 7th grade students, and all children changing school districts:Two doses of varicella (Var) vaccine or history of chickenpox disease. Required for all children 11-18 years of age who are changing school districts or who are enrolled in 7th grade: One dose of meningococcal (MCV4 or MPSV4) vaccine, one dose of tetanus/diphtheria/acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine (if 5 years have passed since last dose of tetanus/diphtheria vaccine - DTaP, Td or DT).
